He's talked about how hard it will be to going into the Bayou State, where temperatures could near the 100s, and come away with a victory.In 20 meetings, A M has only defeated Grambling five times. However, it's won two of the last three meetings, including a 38-17 triumph at home against the Tigers last year. He's talked to them about life on the road, what type of crowd to expect and the raucousness of the Grambling's student section.Now, it's time to line up, put your hand in the dirt and play the game."You can talk about it all you want," Jones said. "It's like looking in the oven. As long as the door's closed, it's OK. But as soon as you pop it open, you better step back."And, for the record, Jones feels good about his team despite lower expectations. Picked to finish third in the SWAC East, the Bulldogs didn't have a single player on offense or defense get a first-team nod on the preseason all-conference team.However, Jones said redshirt freshman Brandon Wells has responded well to intense and demanding fall camp, taking the criticism from coaches well and always comes back to learn more. They've got multiple options at running back, a trusted group of receivers and several players have stepped up on defense, Jones said earlier in the week."They know that this is a very, very important game as far as the league is concerned, as far as this being our opener, the whole nine yards, setting our season up" Jones said. "They understand it. They'll go down there ready to play. How, they'll play remains to be seen."
