Brown liquor comes with a reputation, and not always a good one. It brings to mind men in old leather chairs smoking cigars and counting cards. It has been associated with the kind of stupor that accompanies a broken heart. It can be the fuel to make a normally rational person make poor life choices, like climb the Balto statue on Fourth Avenue and pose for pictures they’ll regret later. As with anything, moderation is the key to enjoyment. Too much of any of these drinks will find you waking up on your bathmat covered in glitter and a thin sheen of despair. ?
The SPD Facebook page brought in an even bigger following. With over 4,000 fans, the page features daily cake photos plus a weekly Guess the Cake contest where followers can guess the eventual cake design based on preliminary shapes. The prize? Cupcakes.
